About Sheryl Davis

Hi, I’m Sheryl Davis
Health & wellness coach, writer, mother, wife, sister, and introverted neighbor next door.
Like many of my clients, I’ve lived through the frustration of health issues that didn’t have simple causes or solutions, like chronic inflammation, joint pain, and digestive distress.
After plenty of visits to the doctor that brought me no answers, I discovered that healing begins when we listen to our bodies and learn to advocate for ourselves.
My Philosophy
Our bodies are whispering, and modern life is often drowning them out.
While the world frequently operates in disharmony with our biology, the power to reclaim health lies in the choices we make every day.
With self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-advocacy, real change and real wellness is possible.
My Journey
Though I didn’t realize it at the time, my health struggles lit a path toward becoming the health and wellness coach that I am today.
A few years ago, I was carrying extra weight and living with relentless joint pain, inflammation, and digestive issues that left me exhausted and feeling helpless.
Nights were the hardest. Acid reflux, excessive burping and gut pain kept me from sleeping, and when I did sleep, I woke up in the morning achy and foggy.
I saw my doctor and a gastroenterologist many times, but the answers never seemed to match what my body was telling me. I felt dismissed by the gastroenterologist, and more than once I left an appointment angry that I hadn’t pushed back or said what I needed to say.
Out of desperation, I began my own investigation by reading, experimenting, and slowly uncovering how food and lifestyle were impacting my body.
It wasn’t overnight, but through trial and error, I found that eliminating certain foods reduced my pain and inflammation, fasting helped me reset, and tuning in to my body’s signals gave me more clarity than any prescription had.
Over time, the weight began to come off, the joint pain eased, and I felt like I was finally reclaiming my body.
Those experiences, both the frustration and the breakthroughs, taught me the power of self-advocacy, and they planted the seeds for what I do today.
In 2023, I started the Wellness in a Chaotic World podcast to dive deeper into what it takes to be healthy in such a stressed-out, unhealthy world.
Connecting with guests and listeners made me realize I was being called to work 1:1 with people. To do that effectively, I pursued formal training, and in August 2025, I graduated from the mindbodygreen Health Coach Certification program.
This calling to be a health coach feels very much like coming home to who I am. More than 25 years ago, I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology, intending to become a therapist. But when I graduated, I was already burnt out from “getting good grades” perfectionism and felt unready and afraid to take on that role.
While I am not a licensed therapist or medical professional today, health and wellness coaching allows me to step fully into my purpose of supporting people in meaningful ways as they work to improve their own lives.
How I Work
As a health and wellness coach, I help people navigate their wellness with empathy, evidence-based habit change methods, and a focus on sustainable change. Together, through 30-minute one-on-one sessions, support between sessions, and personalized resources, we build self-awareness, self-compassion, and the confidence to take the next steps.
Working with me means having an ally who understands the messy, beautiful reality of real life. It’s about finding healing in the everyday—and knowing that you’re not walking this journey alone.
