For today’s episode, I had a chat with LaVonna Willingham from Paducah, KY.
In the fall of 2022, LaVonna started feeling unwell. She knew her health was declining, but the standard bloodwork and her doctors said everything was fine. Knowing that everything was NOT fine, she decided she needed to get to the root of why she wasn’t feeling well.
To do that, LaVonna found a doctor who practices functional medicine. Functional medicine recognizes that the different systems in the body (circulatory, respiratory, digestive, etc.) are all one connected system. It’s an approach to medicine that treats the whole person and looks for the root causes of a patient’s symptoms.
A few months after starting a functional medicine program with Dr. Kay Corpus, LaVonna was not only feeling better and able to take less of her thyroid medication but also launching a new virtual assistant and coaching business.
LaVonna’s story shows her grit and love of life, and I find her inspiring. I hope you enjoy hearing her story as much as I did.
