| People often tell me I seem like a patient person. And in many areas of life, I am. I can hold space for others, listen deeply, and move steadily through challenges. But when it comes to my own long-term goals, personal visions, or health transformations? I struggle with patience. I want the results. I want to see progress. And when things unfold slowly—as they often do—I catch myself feeling frustrated or even questioning if it’s worth the effort. This shows up especially with health goals. You make a change, adjust your habits, and show up consistently…only to feel like nothing is shifting. That can be incredibly disheartening. And I know I’m not alone in this. There’s a voice that creeps in sometimes: “Is this even working? And if it’s not working now, why am I putting in all this effort?” But here’s what I’ve come to understand: Impatience is a dream killer. It’s that subtle (or not-so-subtle) force that makes you give up right before real change takes root. When I notice that voice, I try to pause. I remind myself of a few essential truths: ➡️ It’s the small, daily shifts that add up to real, lasting change. ➡️ Progress isn’t always visible right away, and that’s okay. ➡️ I don’t need to control every part of the process. I just need to keep showing up for myself. A few days ago, I was doing one of my favorite practices—a “Wise Inner Guide” visualization (which I actually walk you through in Episode 26 of the podcast). It’s a way to quiet the noise and connect with the part of me that already knows what I need. During this practice, a simple message came through: “If you take care of yourself, everything else will fall into place.” That reminder hit home. Because when I’m focused on external outcomes, I lose sight of what really matters—my daily choices, my well-being, and my own capacity to stay grounded through uncertainty. So today, I’m sharing this message not just as a personal reminder, but in case you need it too: 📍When you prioritize your own well-being, everything else in your life begins to align and flourish. Even when it doesn’t look like it yet. Even when it’s slow. If you’ve been feeling stuck, frustrated, or ready to give up, I invite you to check in with your inner guide. You might be surprised at how much wisdom is already within you. ✨ Self-Reflection Questions 1. Where in your life are you feeling impatient right now? What’s beneath that feeling? 2. What small, consistent actions are within your control today? 3. When was the last time you paused to check in with your inner guidance? What did it say? 4. What does “taking care of yourself” look like in this season of your life? 5. Can you recall a time when something took longer than expected—but was worth the wait? What helped you stay with it? Take a few minutes to journal your thoughts or simply sit with one question that stands out to you. Sometimes, clarity comes not from pushing harder, but from listening more closely. |
